Community Honoree: Trini Mendenhall-Royalty and Philip Royalty

Trini Mendenhall-Royalty and Philip Royalty are beloved fixtures in the Houston community, known for their shared passion for service and philanthropy. Trini has spent decades championing causes in education, healthcare, child advocacy, and global health through the Trini and O.C. Mendenhall Foundation. Her longstanding support of Baylor College of Medicine has helped advance research in asthma, cardiometabolic disease, and maternal and infant health. At the University of St. Thomas, where she served on the Board for six years, she provided the largest legacy gift in the university’s history—establishing the Mendenhall Achievement Center, Mendenhall Summer Institute, and a need-based scholarship fund. Trini has also impacted organizations such as Catholic Charities, Houston Children’s Charity, and Harris County Child Protective Services. Her service has earned recognition from countless local and national organizations. Philip, Director of Tax at Texas Pipe and Supply, shares Trini’s commitment to giving back. In addition to raising cattle, he devotes time to causes close to his heart, including supporting children with special needs and ministering to men in prison. Together, Trini and Philip have seen cancer’s devastating toll and are deeply committed to supporting the American Cancer Society’s mission to save lives.
