2025 Mission Focus: Paddles Up for Brain Cancer Research
This year, the Houston Cattle Baron’s Ball is proud to shine a spotlight on brain cancer research, a critical area in the fight against cancer. While research into causes, prevention, and treatment of brain cancer is ongoing throughout the world, we can make a difference right here in Houston, Texas.
In 2025, an estimated 24,820 people in the United States will be diagnosed with brain cancer, and sadly, 18,330 are expected to lose their lives to this disease—including 1,370 Texans. While progress has been made over the decades, with five-year survival rates improving from 23% in the late 1970s to 33% today, there is still much work to be done.
100% of the donations received through the Houston Cattle Baron’s Ball Mission Moment paddle raise will be used to fund innovative breakthroughs in brain cancer research. Your support will help accelerate this vital work. Together, we are funding the future of cancer research—one breakthrough at a time.
